Actually I would suggest that's the best time not to have it tuned.

Have to agree. The D4 should lug anything anywhere with considerable, nay, immense ease. Spend the money ON the race car, in my experience.

I suppose that would depend on the tune. It would be nice if you could tune these (or any modern vehicle) to suit your requirements. i.e. Towing, Highway, Town, 4wding etc.. I had three different engine and three different gearbox flash tunes specifically tweaked from data logging for my 6ltr Sportwagon.
    Cheers, Mungus.

You mean like the towing mapping in the 3.0l that changes shift points etc when towing

The 3.0l will tow 3.5t at speed up almost anything.

Has anyone seen Roothy's 'real world test' in a 75 series cruiser on the Gateway Bridge, measuring EGTs and acceleration with stock, tuned, exhaust upgrade and both? He certainly showed the temps getting up more without the freer flowing exhaust, but ppl seem to think the D4s and presumably RRSs have pretty good stock exhausts?

Our 2.7ltr D4 needs the ECU out also, last of the 2.7ltrs and won't except a download file tune.

When we spoke to DPL about a tune, he said "I can't garrantee it will work" and then said if it didn't work there was no refund, which I'm sure you can't do.

    Baz.
    Cheers Baz.
