Thread: Ordered a Mitch Hitch today.

I had the same experience, called them up and the service was fantastic. I didn't want to buy the copy but needed one before the next batch was going to be ready so they went out of their way to get me sorted.

It's clearly a very well engineered product and ignoring that it was a necessity to get the hitch up to the height I need, it also gives me a lot more confidence that the 3t hanging of the back will still be there when I arrive.

When you do the install... cutting in half and trimming the plastic cover to suit is very easy and keeps it all looking good when the electrics aren't required.

was fitted to vehicle when purchased by DPL. love how it sits so high and out of the way.
vehicle was not bought from DPL, just to clear any confusion

I love my D4, but seriously, it's not a pretty vehicle.
From the inside looking out, who cares?

The Mitch Hitch, well, not pretty either. In fact, it's like a wart on an ugly arse on a D4.

Not sure it "sits out of the way" either. I reckon it's a shin buster.

If I wanted pretty, RRS, no question.

Practical, then D4, with Mitch Hitch.

I paid for mine today too so I'll find out if it does.

At least that will make a change from the tongue on the D2 - that keeps dislocating my kneecaps

No it won't, will sit out just as far as the D2, maybe further if you use the same tounge from your D2

I don't see the issue with the Mitch Hitch, looks fine to me, no worse than any other tow hitch on the market, besides how else are you going to lock the tounge in, if the hitch doesn't poke out from the bumper.

Anyway here's what it will look like on the standard bumper.

I intend to leave it in place as I do on the D2. What it looks like doesn't bother me - I have it in place so I can use it at anytime.

My comment was purely as I said - with the height of the D2, the towball almost takes my kneecap off if I hit it.

Yep no worries, won't be far off your knee though, I had a 4" lift on my D2, and I didn't change my tongue when going to the D4 with the Mitch Hitch, so keep in mind it's there, or wear knee pads, it's higher than you would think

I have a Kaymar bar and twin wheel carriers, so the spare wheels protects my knee caps

Great hitch though, especially when offroad.

Having had a look at the D3 (even at access height) then I agree it will be fairly high - which is why I bought the Mitch Hitch.
