trailer connected off road height not selected automatically fault

As per subject title. (A search didn't find me anything)

When I select Rock Crawl / Low etc... I get the above message to even without a trailer hooked up.

I've had this since I got the vehicle in 2011 and until now just worked around it (raised manually).

Problem was I forgot to mention it to the dealer each service, so out of sight out of mind...

    Anyone else had this issue?

I've checked the trailer plug, all good back there.
The vehicle behaves normal in every other way (knows if there is or is not a trailer by disabling the parking sensors etc) but just will not raise itself...

I've also seen this message....at first it concerned me, but not enough to rush from the bush back to civilisation / dealer to diagnose. I haven't noticed any difference to be honest. Also forgot at service time.
I'll watch this thread to see if anyone else has a solution, in the meantime the only comfort you can take is that my vehicle has the same quirk!

    Cheers

I get this message quite a bit Mike, usually goes away, I didn't bother seeing a dealer, mainly because of the answer I would have received, I wouldn't worry too much Mike, it's never effected anything offroad with us, well it hasn't so far.

I'm not too worried.. Just be nice to resolve. It does mean I get to actually 'do' something to off-road it

Graeme, there is no trailer module fitted.

Hasn't caused any issues - just be nice to have it all behave as intended..
(Its hard work to reach out and press the raise button )

Mike all I can find is what it says in the WS Manual:

    Cause:
Advisory message displayed when Terrain Response system would normally have provided off-road height automatically, but system has detected an electrical load on trailer socket
    Resolution:
If trailer or light board is connected, manually raise suspension to off-road height if safe to do so If nothing is connected to trailer socket, investigate trailer socket and/or Terrain Response system for fault
Curious if you get the trailer symbol flashing with you blinker - I am guessing that you don't.

Seems most likely an issue with TR itself or an electrical gremlin giving a false signal to TR.
    Cheers,

    Sean

My D4's trailer symbol didn't flash with my box trailer (nor does the RRV) but did with the van - both are fitted with incandescent globes.

    All other functions work correctly.

When a trailer is fitted the Trailer light flashes, when disconnected it returns to normal next door opening...

Reverse sensors activate and deactivate in accordance with a trailer being connected...

    Just this little anomaly.

Don't know where I learnt it, might be wrong, but I'm led to believe that auto off road height is deactivated when trailer connected. Certainly mine doesn't raise when an off road program is selected when trailer / van attached, but I can select off road height "manually" at the push of the button.

Seems our "fault" might be a default setting in the programming.

Correct... And yet mine is deactivated without the trailer attached...

    Seems its not that uncommon...
