    Heated Seats

On checking the engine compartment fuse panel, i noticed that the fuses for the FRONT and REAR seat heaters are installed.
The air conditioning control knobs don't have the option.
Question is, could the heaters be in place, but not connected, until you pay the fee for the option. Then they just change the control knobs and plug the harness in. ( My wife's bum gets cold on the leather ).

    Any thoughts?

Unlikely. Plus the heated seat/s option would need to be enabled in the CCF (Car Configuration File).

That would be followed by a not so loving slap on my head.

I just had a quick poke around under the front seats of my MY10 "without" heated seat, and there is an electrical connector on the seat that has no loom plugged into it - not sure at this point what it is, but I will see what I can dig up, once I get a photo of it. It may be that we need loom to the seats plus buttons and CCF? I do enjoy the heated seats in my '03 Saab 9-5, so it is something I will be definitely looking into for the D4

This is for the D3 but it might provide a starting point:

The heated seats in the D4 are switched on by two buttons on the dash, one per seat, there are three heat settings. The rear middle passenger seats are also heated.

It's a great option and heats the seats very quickly, I have not looked under the seat of a D4 without the heat option but I can tell you there is no room for anything under one with heated seats.
    Cheers,

    NO heated seats

Thanks for the input, but based on the above information its seems

You could always use a hot water bottle

I have heated seats in two other cars, but not in the Disco. Yep I do miss them a bit ... wouldn't mind the windscreen heater too, although perhaps the insurance would increase more for that ...

But for the seats, high quality Lambswool seat covers are better than heated seats. I have Windsor leather, but I still think I'll put in good quality lambswool. And its no fun putting in lambswool seat covers in a car with heated seats ...

I fitted sheepskin seat covers to the D4 so the leather on the seats wouldn't get discoloured from jeans. If I had black leather I would take the sheepskin covers off, they make a very comfortable seat not so comfortable.
