Something not right there. Are you saying you have the vibration with new rotors and pads fitted ? Or only after heavy braking while towing ?
Russell's D4 first set of discs lasted 90K,
The Dealer, knowing the D4 tows 3T interstate regularly replaced them with drilled ones off the (is it?) Sport?
No change after the last trip to Mildura.
He is now asking for the "plain ones" to be fitted.
After reading quite a few threads here on brake vibes if the change of discs doesn't fix it then next is a fluid/rubber isolater?

So were they vibrating before as well or just after the change, if so, get him to take it back to the dealer, get them to fix it.

I did have a similar situation, not on the D4, but with our old Falcon wagon, turned out to be incorrectly fitted pads.
If it is the case with Russell, the slotted rotors may be part of the issue as well, if they are not sitting right, may not even notice it on non slotted rotors.

After our last trip to the Kimberley's the D3 had a vibration in the peddle when applying the brakes, very noticeable pulling up at lights at slow speed. I booked the car in for a wheel align thinking the corrigations and the fact that I had put on M/T tyres was the biggest cause.
They told me it was a brake issue and as I had done the brakes not long before we left was confused how it could be so. I pulled the pads out on each wheel and give it all a good clean , put them back and vibration gone.
I have no idea why or what caused it , and there was very little dirt that came out and everything was still tight. I have been told that certain pads don't fit 100% correctly and are able to slightly move on the disc and this causes the vibration , and seeing as they sit in a metal clip I guess its a slim possibility.

						There might be a clue in the drilling...
If the pads/ discs are designed for heavy duty use (which often means motor sports) they can be prone to glazing under continued light application. And if someone is getting nearly 100K out of their discs I tend to think they are careful brakers.
I'd be tempted to go for a hard drive with some heavy brake applications (obviously in a safe environment) to see if they settle.
I'd also be asking whether they fitted LR, OEM, or after market parts...
