Mitch hitch fits fine with the Kaymar bar. I did have to do some grinding to get everything to fit nicely however.

I'm looking to fit a Kaymar rear bar with wheel jerry can carrier to my D3. Can anyone tell me if the Mitch Hitch I currently have fitted can be used on the Kaymar?
Cheers
Matt.

SupporterI have an older kaymar bar on the disco , to put a Mitch Hitch on i would need to modify the bar to make it fit , I think the new ones are right to go.
Cheers Baz.

We worked with Kaymar to have their bar suit our hitch, took some doing to get it all to work properly but it does.
Hi Guys,
Had a few days cleaning etc on the D3 and realised I hadn't done a proper clean around the ARB rear kaymar bar for nearly 3 years. Seems that may have been a bit too long between drinks, the attached photo's show the amount of mud and sand under the aluminium tread plate and 3 of the M6 s/s hold down bolts had seized so badly that they snapped off whilst removing them. I would also recommend popping the back end caps off the swing arms and thoroughly cleaning etc inside the arms.
When you order the bar, ensure you purchase the mud flap inserts, but make yourself longer/wider mud flaps.
When fitting the bar, ensure you use plenty of either copper/nickel based lubricant on all you nuts/bolts, prefer the latter This ensures they can be loosened and stops them from rusting up even after 2-3 years.
Love the Mitch hitch, but it does take some effort fitting, avoid grinding if possible, try to scrape out and cast burs within the recovery hook first.
Also ensure you have your wiring right to go and use quality splice connection, use solder and then wrap that with glue lined heatshrink and do not spare on length.
While you are there add a 50 amp Anderson plug/cabling.
Regards
Gerald
Thanks for everyone's advice and input. I purchased an unused second hand one from an Aulro member last week. Now to find the time to fit it!!

Hi Barry,
I assume they are available. After leaving my vehicle at their premises for the week, they had rectified the mirror assembly and fitted them without issue.
I did indicate to Nicole at the front desk, people may call for a set, there was no issue from Her and the Guy who was very apologetic.
Do you want me to put a call in on your behalf?
Regards
Gerald
