This is the one I fitted to my 05 TDV6 in the caravan park at Katherine back in August.

    Still going strong.

Get to it early as when they fail in a big way the resulting heat etc can damage regulator and ive even seen stator winding insulation heat affected. Generally speaking i would be replacing the alt as a unit when they fail at around 150k as there are lots of other wear factors to take into consideration.

The alternator on my brother's 08 RRS had burnt insulation on windings after it failed.
