    Reversing mirrors dip disable?

    2005 TDV6 HSE

I know it is supposed to be a safety feature, but I find it a pain when the mirrors "dip" when I reverse.

I would actually like to see where I am reversing, rather that a just seeing patch of ground at the sides of the car.

Does anyone know of an easy way to disable this well-intentioned and potentially dangerous annoyance, without disabling the other mirror-adjustment functions?

(Ha, you scoff - he is asking for an easy solution for a landrover problem!)

    Worth a try.

In settings in the dash display between speedo - get to it by pushing centre button of right hand steering control then scroll down . Btw you can adjust how much they dip

I'm going by how I do the extent of side mirror dip when selecting reverse based my MY12 D4 HSE.

So select reverse adjust the side mirror to your preferred position and the system remembers that setting. When drive is selected it re-positions to the last position you had that mirror set to prior to selecting reverse. Next time you select reverse it does to the last setting you had when reverse was selected.

If you have memory seats it saves the mirror setting based on which memory (1, 2 or 3) was selected.

An easy solution is found on Page 81 in the owner's manual.

Accessed by the information button on the end of the indicator stalk.

Does not hold the setting if the starter battery is removed as I have found out. HTH.
