Gordon it was a great day. Pity the camera fails to show how steep and rocky the tracks are. Looking forward to the advanced program when we are in Perth next year

    Awesome video Gordon.
The rocks would really worry me with the OEM tyres.
How many on the trip had the OEM tyres and were there any tyre issues.
    Thanks
    Andrew

Hey thanks Gordon was a great day and thoroughly recommended. Certainly gave me the confidence that the D4 will do everything (and probably more) than my previous Toyotas could and much more easily and in more comfort!
    Cheers, Jock

    Hi Andrew,

There's no real problem for short drives, where you're maintaining concentration and a walking pace approach. In these conditions, even the cars with 20" rims and road rubber can sail through the obstacles. There were no incidents on the day (only had one in 6 years of training!), but 5 out of 11 vehicles had the Compomotive rims. The rest were OEM 19", with one on 20".

It's when you're travelling long distances and at speed (as you generally have to when out of a training environment) that the road bias of the rims and tyres can make for a bad day.

    Cheers,

    Gordon

Thanks Jock - good to meet you. We're planning the sand event at the moment - it will be a 2 day course in February.

    Hi Gordon
I agree with Jock's comments. The D4 certainly feels effortless off road. Thanks to you, Steve, and Rob A for all the organisation and your advice and support on the day-much appreciated. I too look forward to the sand training in February. Cheers, David.
