    18" offroad Rim

Hi, I tried to source 18" offroad rim for my DIS 4. Currently, I have 20" with AT tires. Low profile tyre got damage on the side wall at my 1st trip to offroad.
18" rim will be ideal to have large selection, should I have 4x4 Alloy rim? or steel rim. I will not do much offroad yet in the coming year yet, but a good aggressive AT 18" tyre will last lot longer. 285/60/R18 is my choice. I want to get Gordon's compomotive wheel, but it is not available until Jan 2016. I will have more time available in Christmas time, can't wait to get it organised before then. I checked with some wheel supplier, they don't know for sure if the wheel will fit in Disco 4, their manual only mention fit for Disco 3. Will it be the same? What about offset?

    Thanks,

    Gary

Have a read through this thread http://www.aulro.com/afvb/d3-d4-rrs/...confusion.html

In summary the only confirmed option at the moment is Gordon's (Compomotive) 18's

I recently saw a Disco 4 with a set of the Mudtech / Raid wheels fitted (had to ask the owner what they were / where he got them from as I had never even heard of them before). In my opinion, they look like absolute crap when compared against either my OEM Land Rover 18" rims, or the Compomotive rims that Gordon offers.

Personal taste / opinion I know - but when I saw them, my first thought was "yuk!!!"

Fortunately, I already have 18" OEM Land Rover rims on mine, so have no need at the moment to consider after market rims - but If I did ever want to replace my rims, I wouldn't go past the Compomotive rims from the choices currently available.
    Cheers .........

I don't mind the look of the mudtech's too much but they aren't exactly cheap at almost 500 a pop. On top of that, you'd have freight from I assume Italy.
At least you have some local support with the GOE's.

If you mean their 17" steel wheels - they will fit the D3 (all models except V8), D4 2.7 and RRS 2.7. The issue however is that the +35 offset is illegal - it should me a minimum of 42. The factory 17" alloys have the same offset as the 18" and close to other sizes, at 53.

I'm pretty sure the other 17" steel wheel brands have a similar issue with offset.

AFAIK, there are no 18" or larger steel wheels available to fit.
