    Trolley Jack Adapter

    Hi,

I just wanted to say how awesome this forum is and the people that make it so.

In another thread I asked to be included on the waiting list for a Bottle Jack adapter forum member LandyAndy is having made. I also posted a plan of a Trolley Jack adapter i kinda thought would be neat if one could be made for my 2000Kg Pro-Lift Trolley Jack..

Well, made it was; and sent to me by express post at no cost by someone in another State of Australia. The only time i have exchanged messages with that person was on LandyAndy's thread, and not before.

I big shout out to weeds, you are certainly a champ and the type of person who makes this Forum as awesome as it is. The jack adapter is a sweet piece of kit and very well machined.

    Cheers Mate

A jack adapter that increases the height of lift

Weeds you're a top bloke and no mistake.

I'm in a remote location and the only decent jack that I could find has a maximum lift of 465mm which I believe 60mm short of the optimum.

I had the idea of getting an adapter made the same as Weeds but one that incorporates an additional 60mm of height.

Would such a mod to the design be safe?

I think it will be fine.....a trolley jack self centers as the rises.......and 60mm isn't that much.

Just need Brad to confirm one measurement......

6x6 Can you measure the hole in the jack for us??

That sounds ok. If you have a look at this thread you will see a spreadsheet done by BSM. The min and max figures he estimated are 230mm and 400mm respectively.

So if your jack can get lower than 230 and lift up to at least 400 it should be suitable.

I'm not technical so I hope this makes sense ....
The measurement of the outside edge of screw in plugs' threads is 22.8mm
The measurement of the threaded hole for the plug is 22.2mm

Also I made a mistake my current max lift is 465mm so to get 530mm I'm 62.5mm short

Thanks Scott. Yes its definitely suitable with a range 92 to 465mm and I've been using it. However I have it in mind, possibly from Disco3.UK, that 530mm was the required lift to raise both the front and rear wheels on one side off the ground at the same time. Of course I may have misunderstood

You may well be correct that raising one whole side requires a bit more lift. I have not looked into lifting both wheels on one side.
