Thank you very much for the feedback guys. I ended up buying the one WITH because the deal ended up being too good to refuse.

I'm sure i would have been happy with either but I'm glad I've got it.

    Thanks very much.

We have rear air in ours and usually leave it off unless someone's in the back. Generally, it's just the two of us and I find that the AC is so good that I don't need the rear air on. One other point about rear air is if you're considering going to 18 inch rims. The pipes for the rear air are in the wheel arch behind plastic shielding and can be rubbed by tyres on 18 inch rims. The pipes may in fact need to be relocated to use 18 inch rims and tyres. It's been on a number of threads before. GGHAGGIS sells the rims and this is from his web site.

I'm pretty sure they only rub if you choose to put larger than standard tyres on (like the 285/60/R18 specified in your attachment). Standard size on an 18" rim is 255/60/R18 which is within 1mm of the diameter of a 255/60/R19 (standard) tyre.

It is a good warning tho, in case the OP plans to fit larger tyres later.

Smocky, she's gonna be beautiful. Make sure you post some pictures up when you get her!

    Cheers

Thanks Dan. I've not noticed that before. I was not keen on playing with the aircon lines to fit 18 inch rims. Now for a discussion with the financial controller.

265/60/R18 do not rub or require any mods. This is what most people with 18s run (including me). And IIRC the 265/65/R18 only have a slight rub on the front when on full lock in reverse but no issues with rear a/c. Rear a/c lines require relocation for the wider than 265 options.

Yep, mines a D3, but I have rear air and 265/60/18s and no problems.

I have a MY 13 SE with rear air which often runs Gordon's 18" rims and very big 285/60 tyres. Never had a rubbing issue.

Interestingly, up front, the MY13 rubs less than the MY 10 that I had before. I think fitment of linings, etc., are not subject to the same engineering specs as the other car parts ... therefore, there will be differences and each car should be individually assessed. At the end of the day .... it's not structural.

Just a point of clarification. These lines are not A/C, but just heater hose so can be moved and relocated a lot easier as they just carry coolant. The following link has detailed instructions on moving... LR3/4 Rear AC Line relocation - Page 2 - Expedition Portal
