    Thanks guys.

I just use the Chinese knock offs on the rear but leave the metal securing bracket off. Mine have been bent up and flattened by rocks as I have driven over them and have not broken or cracked. The original ones broke first time out in similar terrain.

Next time round though I will get a set of the rubber D1 or D2 flaps.

    Thanks scott!

You know, i was thinking to myself "i wonder if someone would be willing to measure and sketch out the dimensions so people could make their own? Nah! That's too much effort!"

    But then you did!

Also, did you sketch it up in word? If so thats even more effort!

    Cheers

    Dan

Dan, I sketched it in Powerpoint and exported as jpg because I didn't have anything better at home. Didn't take too long.

If making your own from scratch you won't need to make the inner side (right-hand in sketch) as complicated as the D1/2 item. And you could increase the overall width slightly as well. You would probably not directly copy for the rear either. The sketch/template is more useful for checking the rear based on buying the item so that you have something with neat edges and potentially all 4 the same.

However, the detail of the outer edge (left-side in sketch) is worth copying I think.
It suits the wheel flare quite well and is a neat way to get the mudflap out a bit wider.

My D4 came with reinforced rubber flaps on the vehicle, but I replaced them with the Chinese knock-offs... the logo on them says "LAND ROVEF"

I swapped over to them as the OE style gives better side protection from stones and mud etc. Took the D4 through a reserve the other day (that has been chewed apart by the local 4x4 P Platers) to find a nice quiet fishing spot, managed to get through the mud and ruts with all 4 of the flaps still intact, the rims and tyres caked in mud, yet the sides of the disco are still clean.
at the cost of $59 for the set, they have been pretty good, and if I do manage to break a set, I will probably put another set on, just because I am quite impressed with the side protection they provide.

Any chance of a link? I'm struggling with the varying knock offs, so have held off purchasing. If you've found one that you are happy with, that would be very helpful. Agree that at $60 it's not a lot of money if they are duds.

Also, did you have to adjust anything or did they just bolt right on?

    Thanks for your help.

    Jason.

I got these ones off eBay.

They required the slightest trimming with a blade, and for a neater finish I ran a very small bead of sikaflex where it mates up to the black plastic. All screws were supplied but I think I didn't put them all in, as I think there was 1 hole on each that either didn't line up or I couldn't reach as I fitted them with out removing the wheels, just put it into llams +50 and offroad height.

OK those are the ones I was looking at. Looks like $60 delivered. I'll get those for now which will give me time to work on something better.

    Cheers,
