    Thanks

    Thanks for the info.
Shame I can't get a bash plate to fit, this brings me to another question: I thought I read somewhere that the D4 came with a plastic under motor cover. Mine has the plastic part under the radiator but is all metal under the engine. I bought is 2nd hand, just wondering if it may have had protection added?

Also some links to learn more about correct use of snatch strap would be appeciated, got me scared now!

Agree it's not foolproof, but if I am going to be hit in the head by a shackle I would prefer it had had to get through a cargo barrier first to slow it down a bit

Do a recovery course with a reputable 4x4 club.

Basics are, never use a towball to snatch from, only rated recovery points, if you need to use a shackle to connect make sure it is a quality rated shackle, and rated for at least twice the weight of the heaviest vehicle. Make sure the snatch strap is also rated for 2-3 times the weight of the heaviest vehicle, it s clean and in hood condition and not too old. Never use anything metal to join straps. Use a dampener.

The engine guard is steel from the factory. Part # LR014235 which superceded KRB500270.
