Mine is on auto at all times so I don't even have to pick a fan speed or decide where the air goes.

Its been good for a week and then on the weekend wouldn't start cooling again for over 3 minutes. After that, fine again.
Thanks for that guys. I was thinking about getting mine re-gassed but will hold off for a while now, particularly as the rear wheel bearings need attention immediately.

One thing I have not tried is what the front air con is like when I turn the rear air con off. Currently the rear is always on and set to auto. I have not monitored that but will do so soon to see if there is any change at the front with the rear off.

I leave mine with all the directions turned off,it seems to cycle between them, rarely put the fan speed up to the second choice or direct air to face.
The D2 aircon was very good, this is much better.

PeteB 155k on the clock and noticed the aircon takes 3-4 minutes to start working and then is fine
    Hi Pete,
I only recently just got a D4 2010 TDV6 and the air cond in that was doing much the same, taking forever to cool down.
I got it checked the other day by my mate who is a qualified air con mechanic and he put some gauges on which measured the inlet and outlet gas pressures of the condenser and he suspects my system is over gassed.

but would need to take it to somewhere special to get some of the gas removed? (apparently it is illegal to vent the air con gas into the atmosphere?)
Maybe this is inherent to all D4s?

My good old MY03 D2 air con works awesome! go figure?
