    Is warranty void ?

Talking to the service manager where I got my D4 serviced today I asked him about changing the transmission oil,he told me the warranty would be voided if the oil was changed before the warranty run out.So gentlemen that have done the steel pan conversion true or not.

I assume that in legal argument all warranty questions would come down to the question: did the actions undertaken affect the performance of the parts (now failing).
Changing the oil (with the correct spec) could hardly meet the above. (IMHO)
No doubt though, should a gearbox, under 3 years /100,000kms, had the oil changed, and then fail...that Landrover would probably deny warranty claim; and the lawyers would try to get rich.
I think the chances of all of the above ever happening would be quite remote though ;-)
I changed my oil and pan at 50k kms. It was out of warranty, at the time.

Legally, hes wrong But only if the oil change is done IAW the landrover procedures at a suitably qualified mechanics.

you doing it or you swapping a part or paying a mechanic to swap a part that is not OEM can void your warranty.

    Never a problem for me

Had the transmission oil changed and the steel pan fitted at 85,000km by the Land Rover service agent....never batted an eye and the warranty has always been honored.
