    Key Remote Operating Frequency - Australia

    I will update this thread:

    http://www.aulro.com/afvb/d3-d4-rrs/...etc-etc-5.html

    once I have an answer from my question here.

    Can I have a definitive, 100% certain answer to the question - 'What is the operating frequency of the remote fobs on a 2006 D3 delivered into Australia' please?

    Signed - one frustrated owner

    My research has led me to believe that it should be 433MHz.

    While both 315 and 433 are available in Australia;

    Spectrum options for short range devices | ACMA

    although this;

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remote_keyless_system

    and a number of other vehicle specific references all seem to relate to 433.

    The reason I ask is that I was told by the local dealer yesterday that mine was 315 ex-factory and has since had a full lock, barrel and fob change to 433, and this is why they are unable to get a key from LR that matches my VIN.

    Quite possible. If so, then it's even more likely the mechanic who did the lockset change didn't update the LR database with the new keyfob code.

    That happened with my P38A. I ordered a key from my VIN and it didn't fit. Mine had been updated from 315MHz to 433MHz.

    Thanks Ron. However when I ordered a new receiver in the vain hope that was the issue, the one supplied by the other (different) dealer when given my VIN was 433MHz...

    From what I was told yesterday that should have been 315MHz as that is how it was built.
