I've drained my cooling system a couple of times - followed LR procedure but over the next couple of days after a drain I still have to top up the coolant slightly. Must have some good airpocket spots in these engines
Gday All,
I have just finished oil pump & timing belt and have followed the proceedure to refill the coolant level, I managed to catch 4 litres and spilt a bit so assume if I added 4 ltrs I should be at the low level line or slightly under , so after following the manual and having put only 4 ltrs back in I am 3/4 of the way to the top of the expansion tank, and it don't seem to be dropping.
I have opened the head bleed screw whilst its running and a steady stream is coming out, but I must have air in there somewhere. Is it a case of just continuing to redo the bleed process or is there another method I can try.
I have re air con and have had that running just in case, both front and back set on full heat mode.
Ideas ???
Thanks and Cheers Ean

OK Thanks, will just check it each day it will go down sooner or later , just wondered if anyone found a better way.
You see the coolant level drop in the expansion tank when you rev it to 3000 RPM but it rises again once you drop off the revs.
Cheers Ean
There is also a bleed screw on the expansion tank itself. If your following LR procedure then I'm assuming you know this.
