    But Bluetoothing from phone is a compressed format. Most formats lose the top & bottom end - so as said above it just doesn't sound the same

    EXACTLY.
    I have the USB but its compressed,yet still very good.The CD quality on these up spec Meridian juke boxes is awesome.I upped my sub woofer level slightly yesterday whilst playing David Gilmours latest CD WOW,and I had to be fair with the volume as Deb was in the car
