Disco 3 - upper dash replacement tips

hi...my old dash on my Disco 3 has cracked very badly around the air bag and other places, so i invested in a secondhand replacement. Anyone out there got any tips and tricks for replacing the old with the new?

Funny that, mine has just started cracking too!
A dashmat has been ordered - the cheapest alternative.

i paid $900 secondhand from Triumph Rover Spares in WA and cost another $80 to send to NSW. It's in great condition and came with airbags. Just need to work out how to fit it. i'm thinking of reverse engineering by seeing what screws i'd have to fit by looking at the replacement but wondered if anyone has done this and what the tips and tricks were.
Does fitting the dash mat affect the airbag if it goes off?

The dash mats typically have a flap over the airbag that moves when the airbag deploys.

I have no idea on how to fit the new dash so best of luck. Make sure to take pics!

This document may help (attached pdf).
It is extracted from the D4 workshop manual but I imagine the D3 would be similar.

Only goes to show a D3 has more flair and character than a D4.
