Any used Opti-coat Pro + or similar

Not looking to start a religious debate like I did on the rust proofing, but has anyone used this type of paint protection product

    Opti-Coat Pro+ - The Ultimate? Ceramic Paint Protection Coating | Opti-Coat LLC

I know most of the dealer stuff these days is rubbish but the aim is here is to greatly reduce wash times whilst protecting. Many on the forums seems to swear by this product and would be keen to hear of any experiences with this or better recommended products.

    cheers
    Andrew

I did some net research on opticoat. It seemed to get some good feedback. I got a quote for the RRV which was $900. That's cheaper than through a dealer but too xy for me. I'll keep washing or quick detailing it at least weekly for a lot less.

Have used it on last 3 vehicles and will keep using it.

Wife's BMW is nearly five years old and parked regularly under trees, but looks almost brand new after each wash. On the LR I have had some encounters with bushes and still looks like new.

Both cars are just washed with some soapy water and have never needed waxing. They continue to bead after wash.

Leave it up to you to determine opticoats true value.

PS: I dont have shares in the product, but I wish I did

Thanks Andrew, do you still use a drying towel or do you find it doesnt need it now?

Yes I use a chamois to dry the beads, after washing.

If I am driving in the rain, the beads get blown dry pretty well.

Any views on how this compares to something like the 3M clear film? I'm considering that and I have the impression that the price is similar or perhaps a bit more expensive but comparable.

Last time I checked to film a whole car of this size would be easy 3K to 4K?. This process is about $800

Really? You're not thinking of vinyl wraps are you? I couldn't find any prices online for the whole car but I did find a price of $750 to do all leading faces incl bonnet, bumper and mirrors. I guess I figured you would only bother doing that and the sides which are flat so shouldn't add much cost.
