I just updated my Sat Nav with the Land Rover branded disc as per the link in a previous post.
Just a word of warning to anybody thinking of doing this, the upload time for the maps to update is just over an hour.
Cheers
Tony

The last update disc I got was a Toyota branded one.
Same DVD drive unit used by Land Rover and works perfectly, and still shows the Land Rover logo on startup

But pretty sure each copy is coded to a VIN.
Note that the latest version is Land Rover - Australia 22/11 HDD Update and is dated 2015. It costs about $210 shipped and is locked to your VIN, so can't be used on any other vehicle. It takes about an hour to load and the engine needs to be running, so I'd do the upgrade when starting on a longish trip (as long as you already know the way!). I loaded mine mid 2017 and it was already woefully out of date. It would be better if you can wait for the next release.
Others here prefer using their smartphone and Google Maps.

This is the main reason that I decided not to update the oem sat nav but rather buy a Garmin as per my earlier post. It really is atrocious that LR don't provide a better service for this side of their product. I was given a Range Rover and then a D5 as loan cars recently and LR seem to have a better sat nav now. Maybe they have come to realise at the price of these cars come they deserve a sat nav at least equal to what you get in everyday "ordinary" cars.
