Cabin crackling noise ? In my D4

    Hi everyone,

Has anyone had this experience with their D4
It sounds like it's comming from the top of the dash plastic near windscreen.

Normally it wouldn't bother me but when the cabin of these cars are so quiete I can really here it .

It only really happens on certain bumps or when the car is contorting .

Please HELP it's driving me nuts .

Any ideas of what it could be?

There is a fault with recent D4s rattling but that is an issue with the b pillar and requires the car to be returned to dealer for panel beating as per LR Australia specifications. Issue with a couple of welds in the latest model.

Sounds like the dashpad. Common problem. Solution is to replace pad. Warranty job if its still in warranty, otherwise no idea of cost.

The speaker looking thingy right in the middle of the dash close to the windscreen is a common culprit.

See if you can eliminate the noise by applying pressure while driving.

Dealer told me it is often associated with the big square speaker in the dash. Dash out, labour intensive job to fix it.

I have the same issue since almost new. Not loud but it is irritating. Anyone know how long it takes for LR to fix?
