TDV6 2.7 Time bomb or Not

After reading so many posts on here and the UK site re early euro 3 & 4 Engines failing , is it fair to say that these events are an exception rather than the rule ,or are we driving around with a hand grenade like the early Nissan V6 waiting for our turn in the barrel .
Starting get the jitters , I have done 155k all service and maintenance up to date , belts and oil pump done and driven ok and not flogged .
Mine is a 2007 and probably not worth all the expense of a new eng , but gee I love it its the best 4x4 I have had . Fingers crossed .
    .

You'll only read posts like that on forums..
Very rare to read "it's all going swimmingly" posts.

Engine replacements are $2k plus fitting so worth it if the vehicle is solid...

To be accurate, does anyone know what where the changes, if any made to the 2.7tdv6 when ford put it in the territory?
P.s that could be the source of a cheaper replacement, as there would be plenty stat write offs from rear end/ hail/t-bone etc with no engine damage.

Frantic, yes, there's several posts in the D3/D4 forum regarding what needs to be swapped from D3/D4 engine (with a couple of extra bits needed if your D3 is Euro3 spec) to a donor Territory engine to make it run.

Basically, the differences are very few.

Well im going "swimmingly " , but did not believe I would ever be reading a post about blown engines on a RRS Disko 3 , well not so many anyway , after all for the price you pay one would expect better .

Not any more, $3.5k minimum now. Most are asking $4k plus, some asking up to $6k.

And that was from a survey of about 12 wreckers.
