Talking Will 19" RRS wheels fit on 2014 D4?

I wanted an extra spare for when doing long distance touring with the caravan. I managed to pick up for a good price 4 x 19" wheels. Seems like they came off a RRS. Are in good nick, they are the correct offset of 53, however, they are 9" in width rather than the standard 8" of the Discovery.

I am presuming that with both the standard wheel and the RRS ones I intended for an extra spare, they will fit on perfectly, however, the extra 1" width will all be on the inside of the vehicle ( as it were). There is heaps of space on the rear hub and axle to accommodate the extra width, however, at the front the upper control arm thingy looks like it might be a bit close.

Anyone tried this out or have suggestions? May have to end up selling the 4 RRS wheels to get one correct rim as a second spare. Don't believe load capacity is a huge difference, 900 vs 930kg I think.

    Thanks

    Trevor

    Fitting shouldnt be an issue.
What may be an issue is they could lower you GVM which is already tight when touring.
See what the brains trust say.

I wouldn't use a wheel with a lower load rating than OEM, at all.

But if you are going to use one infrequently and only in emergency, the chance of an issue(with the lower load rating) would be remote.

As for the different width, sorry can't help

    Offset explained

The 53 offset value is measured from the centre of the wheel to the mounting face, so the extra width will be 0.5" outside and 0.5" inside. The tyre tread width remains virtually unaffected by rim width, it'll just sit ~13mm wider at the bead.

There are plenty of images online of RRS wheels on D3/D4 discoveries which makes me think they'll fit without a problem. If you have the wheels, try them on (front and back) to be certain.

    Cheers

My RRS came standard with 20 x 10J rims and 275 tyres. I don't think the wheel architecture is that different between the RRS and the Disco. Plus I know 285 tyres will fit the D4. 9" rims should be fine.

Will 19" RRS wheels fit on 2014 D4?

They will fit - are they rated for the weight of the vehicle - NO...

Fitting them to a D4 renders the vehicle unroadworthy and the reduced load rating is a risk.
