    plastic roof strips

    Gday All

The plastic strips on the roof have some plastic lugs hold them down , do they unscrew or just pop out. I assume the sit in the head of a allen screw or something.

I tried to wedge them out but look like they were about to break and leave the centre part in.

    Thanks in Advance

    Cheers Ean

As far as I know they are just a Xmas Tree fitting into a captive nut.

    They will screw out easily.

Strips aren't plastic - they're Alloy plastic roof strips

I recently broke one. I tried levering as per the PowerfulUK YouTube video with a trim tool and the top came away. So unscrewing would be a better bet but it was in pretty tight.

Get a flat head screw driver...
    Lever the edge up gently.
Grab raised edge with pliers and unscrew out.

Or it your not planning to re-use you. An push a hot flat head screw driver into the top and unscrew.
