    Whine from front end

    Hi

On our way home from the Pilbara to Perth, pulled into Geraldton last night. As we slowed coming into town, I noticed a low whine coming from the front end (probably rhs).
RAC had a quick look/drive and said "it would be OK". Hmmm. Not sure.
Couldn't feel any heat around front wheel hubs or the front 'drive shafts'(?) after we'd stopped.

    Tyres looks ok (6mths old).

Only other thing is that the front right got a pretty heavy knock whilst driving in the hills up north (enough to mark/gouge the rim a bit Whine from front end).
Could I have a damaged brg or something else? Where? What?

    Help appreciated!

    Thanks

    Rob

If you are still in Geraldton, contact Whyatts on here, they are factory backed Land Rover Specialists.I dont think they are open on saturdays, look them up online there may be a mobile number.
    They were RAC contractors.

    Is it only when moving?

A week or two before my alternator died it started to whine, coincidentally after going through a large pot hole.

    Not again

At least you are a little closer to home this time.

Ours was flat bedded out of Gunlom Falls a week ago with a fuel leak so we know the feeling.

Yes, I feel a bit ripped off that it's 'only' a wheel brg. Whine from front end

If I'm going to be towed, I want it to be something 'serious'!!! Whine from front end
