Other pictures online have it as either that or the traditional parkers/lights on indicator of a forward and a rearward light
The owners handbook does not describe the purpose of the warning light immediately to the left of the message centre.
An internet search has not provided me with a sufficiently definitive answer either.
What is the warning light identified in the attached image? It is a vehicle with three arrows underneath it and it has commenced illuminating this afternoon on my D3 when the headlights lights are on.

Have you updated the instrument panel software recently?
I've got a vague recollection that that warning light is used for lights on when the 2008+ instrument panel software is used on an early dash.

Most info that I have been able to find also shows the "lights" indicator in this position. However, if you go to the site https://lr3tips.wordpress.com/owners-manuals/
and select the "British Disco3 manual" option, you will find the indicator light with the symbol that you have shown in this position. It looks like you might have a British import instrument cluster - the indicator is for "Auxiliary Heating" according to this manual (see No. 24 below). A couple of relevant extracts from the manual are attached.
I assume that the "FBH" they refer to in this document is a "Fuel Burning Heater" and not the rather large hammer that this abbreviation would normally refer to in Australia.

Cheers .........

If it is the red symbol in the shape of a car with 3 wavey red arrows going up to the car.
That's a very early 04-05 era light to say the fuel burning heater is activated and working.
However, Land Rover turned this feature off in a service update here in the uk as it kept freaking people out.
I have it reactivated as the symbol to tell me my auto lights have turned on as there is no symbol for that. So when the lights come on, that red symbol comes on.
Later cars from 07 onwards have the green headlight symbol in that location.

If you read the Gap instructions it states that this behaviour happens with the software update.
