    Front interior light not working

I hope someone can help. My front interior light has not worked since new & as servicing is being done my an independent, I thought I might try to resolve the issue myself. The back light works fine.

I have changed the bulb with one of the working map reading lights in the cluster so it's not the bulb. The button works because I can program the system to turn off the interior lights completely.

Does anyone know how to release the light cluster from the roof? Maybe a wire is not attached.

I also had a look at GAPII but can't find an output to force to test the light.

    Thanks

Can't help with the cause but gaining access behind appears quite straightforward.

I'd get a dealer to look at it as it would be a warranty item. My trailer socket didn't work and it turned out to be that the loom from the trailer plug to the connection inside the wheel arch had not been installed when the car was made.

Thanks Scott, I'll have a go. It's always hard pulling apart a new vehicle. As for taking it to a dealer, true, it is a warranty issue but it's not worth the hassle of booking it in for such a small fault, I may as well wait until it really needs to see a dealer.

Ha, fixed it. One of the pins on the 4 pin connector was bent. Now I also have a LED which illuminates the gear console which I didn't know about.

For many rural owners, or even time poor metro owners, a trip to the dealers is not easy, but nonetheless I don't understand this mentality. Poking around with the lights in a brand new car? Back it goes, I say. I wouldn't touch it even if I was an auto sparky. If I was I'd concentrate on the people who pay me rather than work for free to repair a car I'd just paid 90 grand for.

Mate's brand new Disco on its first trip recently found the centre and rear 12v outlets not working.
