    D4 in cabin constant 12v

I pulled apart the centre trim today to have a hunt around for a constant 12v supply so that I could tap into it to take power to run my uhf. The only plug that I could find had 12v constant was the plug that goes into the hand brake lever.

Anyone know if any errors would be caused by by taking power from this source or would there be any other issues?

Quite easy to run a fuse and a new cable direct from the battery with a bit of conduit to the firewall, under the dash. And if you ever add a dual battery system you can incorporate it into that...

Highly recommend traxides dbs if you need constant feeds...

Get a piggy back fuse and hook into the fuse box behind the glove box,you then get a choice of live all the time or ignition fed.You need the mini size.

If you do that, just make sure you put the piggy back in the right way around, otherwise you end up running both circuits through 1 fuse

They can only go one way.The original circuit is protected by the main fuse, the tail that comes off the unit is protected by the additional fuse.I have mi Icom wired that way.
Im going to hardwire usb plugs and a ciggy lighter into the Kuda mount that has just left the good ole US of A
Will be able to fit a tablet for nav,a TOMTOM and a Blackvue crash cam without a tangle of wires

Ahh right, as in the tail won't fit round the other way? I haven't had to use any in the D4 yet, but I have used the larger ones before in a situation where the tail fit both directions, so if you put it in back to front, the tail runs through both fuses in series, therefore your original circuit fuse is on both circuits.

Have a look at the link. They are bloody great, saves hacking into wiring.
I got a double usb and a cigy lighter with double usb so 4x2.5 amp USB plus the ACC outlet.I got 2 switches too.Thinking of wiring 1 bank to permanent live,1 to ACC with a switch on each circuit so I can simply switch them off when the vehicle isnt being used. That is to be decided yet,may just run the lot as permanet live with 1 switch.

Yep, this is the go. I plugged my Piggy Back fuse into fuse 48 in the lower glove box compartment. This is a constant supply (Trailer connector battery feed).
