    Low profile roof tray

    Hi All,
    I'm looking for a roof tray for my D4 and was wondering if there was something like this voyager rack available in OZ?
    I can get this one shipped out but would rather buy local if I could.
    Cheers Jason

    Low Profile Rack

    I would definitely recommend going with this rack:
    Land Rover Discovery 3 and 4 Roof Rack : ProSpeed

    I think its the best looking available. Unfortunately no one seems to be keen to bring these in so shipping could be a bit costly but worth it. I am planning to grab one and some other bits that they sell.

    We've just bought our first LR, a Discovery 4 and have been looking through the threads absorbing and deliberating. It came with some stock roof racks but am looking into something more and the prospeed looks pretty nice. Out of interest have you worked out a rough landed cost? I see the wheels and sliders are brought in to Australia by GOE, they might be able to add some racks to a shipment.

    Another D4 I looked at had a Rhino rack platform but with wings on side that looked pretty minimal and flexible given you could have something long span the ends.

    I reckon it was one of these;

    The ProSpeed was my other choice!!, I have contacted them and they will ship to OZ, it's not cheap but a better deal than Land Rover's full length roof tray offering which was about $2.5k and not that good.
    My problem is it's my wife's car most of the year and will only carry surfboards except when we go away so it needs to fit into shopping centres but I want something strong when required. I think the Thule etc racks are expensive, complicated and full of small component's that can fail just when you need them not to. As an engineer I love the idea of a fully welded component that becomes part of the vehicle....

    I have found Prospeed UK pretty good to deal with directly. If you are interested an email to "Ben" via their website will get you all the answers to your questions re prices and delivery etc. From memory, the prices you will see on their website include UK "VAT" (20%) until the point that you go to their checkout and change the country. So that makes the prices a bit cheaper, BUT you will then have to factor in paying Australian import duties which add to the costs again. It is really good stuff and I am pleased to have their compressor guard and sliders. From memory it was a little less than 350 UK pounds for the sliders and compressor guard (just for delivery to Aus) and about 500 UK pounds delivery for the rack, ladder and full rack flooring. I know, I know... before anyone says it...... its extremely expensive, but I don't always reason things out too logically.

    Long after you've forgotten how much you could have saved you can continue to enjoy them. I'd also imagine would be easy parts to sell if you parted out when times come to sell it too. Cheers for the help.
