Monitoring transmission temperature on my 2016 D4 when towing, I was often seeing it go over 100 deg C up hills.
DPL added a transmission cooler which dropped temperatures by about 15 deg.
FWIW, we also service the auto every 60k KMs.

My 8speed runs at around 106degs (moving 6T) on the road pretty much regardless of ext temps.
Is that good? its probably to specs..
Had the trans serviced in Darwin recently and asked the question, (mentioning that weight figure--) and the response was every 80K--
would I still like to add a second cooler like my old BSL? yes.
    Is it even possible though??

Hmm. Mine (also the 8 speed) sits at about 86, regardless of external temps - and that includes a recent high revving trip around Moreton Island on the sand, where I checked it out of interest. Maybe a bit high? I get steady state of oil at about 105-110, trans fluid 80-86, coolant 85-95...

FWIW, I posted this late last year!

"I've just finished towing a 6.7M/2.5T boat 4,000 km to the NT and back with my 2015 D4 TDV6, and thought I would share some data from my Gap tool which I had plugged in for much of the trip as I wanted to monitor temps.
38 - 40 degrees C outside temp and 100 kph in Sports mode.
    Coolant temp: 98 - 104oC
    Sump oil temp: 126 - 129oC
Transmission oil temp: 94 - 100oC (generally 6C less than the coolant.
Most in 7/8 gear - occasionally 6th for a bit of a climb.
    17.5 L/100 km"
