I just feel being his thread on his baby it falls on him:D
WOW,,,
Gee, thanks Chris :D thanks for the day too, it really was awesome.
This essentially was the "first" trip up to the bush in the D4 for me. The only reservations I had was my tyres. I wont get my new ones until Xmas due to a few problems, so airing down and driving over some fairly sharp rocks was always going to be a concern.
I have bugger all pics as I was driving,, of course  and Leeanne was at work, however, Alan took a few snaps with my camera for me :D
We went down to the Thompson River Dam area, so near Rawson, Aberfeldy.
Here's the crew for the day, airing down before the first creek crossing,,
Myself,, the D4 ;)
Gary and Carol,, D2 V8,
Alan (Wardy) and Ken,, D2,
Chris and Sandy,, D2
A snap of Gary going through the bog hole. He just walked through it, as did Chris and Alan.
My attempt, ahh, foiled, big time. :(
Attempt number two, and as I sit there just before launch, I'm looking at the very slick tracks I've left with my "road tyres", and I'm thinking this is going to be a "non-event" on my behalf. :(
Attempt number three.
Chris backs me further up the bank for a bit more run-up.
Looking at the mode I'm in, I am constantly aware of what TR I should be in to handle what I am trying to do. All the information I received from Gordon's class, from which I had "information overload" is starting to sift through as I start the next run.
A bit hard to remember, but I think I was in Rock Crawl, and quickly switched to Mud Ruts, let it work, keeping the revs up a bit, feathering on the way, Chris was starting to think I'd failed again I'm sure, but just then, traction gains and we creep forward, ever so slowly,,,, I'm through
**** all these electrics are amazing,,, road tyres FFS,,,
Ahhhh you went off the bitumen on 19" (or are they 20") wheels and you made it out alive!!!!!:D:D
Looks fun. Great vehicle aren't they!
Chris
Nice car Marcus, once you have decent rubber things will change offroad, that certainly is a lovely colour, it's a big change from the Defender eh!!
We'll be heading for the High Country again this Xmas, love the place.
