As Tombie hints - Britpart don't have a great reputation. Some of their gear is rebranded OEM equivalent and is fine though. I cant give you any advice on those particular steps, though at that price you can get a decent set of proper sliders.

I've dealt with Roverparts a number of times and have found them very helpful when i have asked about particular gear. I'd give them a call and see if they can put your mind at ease.

For what it's worth,
there's a big difference also between a rock slider and a dress board to just stand on. If you want protection, go the rock slider, if you just want bling to stand on when washing the roof go the side steps.

It was mentioned in the OP - steps required for fitting surfboards only, not 4wding.

I think you should go APT Sliders cause there tough and we're Men and we like tough things not princesses and unicorns.

Picture this, stay with me now, I'm going to paint you a picture- you're surfing with the Sharks they're circling you, your only way out is that 10m wave swelling up out the back, it comes in and you paddle like crazy, you're up, it's on you surf that tube like a God with those Sharks snapping on the back of your board, you ride it all the way to the shore, what a Legend.

Then you take your board to load it on your classy but rugged, no mess, no fuss, tough going 4x4 and just as you step up to load it, your little princess steps bend in the middle but they look good while they're bending they're pretty little things a must have just like princesses and unicorns.

After you bend your princess steps you can have a latte and reflect on your near death experience.

Or you could just make an educated decision and take advice from an educated person on which way to go regarding steps, based on the type of use they would get, and their functionality.

Or you could be a Man and get the toughest sliders available because their tough "n" stuff and you can't really step on them comfortably to load your man board but their tough (did I mention that their tough?) and they look good and that's what I bought because I'm a man and their tough so I think you should get them because you swim with sharks.



Ha ha ha if you haven't worked it out already you might not want to take advise off me, I'm just not right, they tell me I'm bent.

APT sliders are indeed very manly, and Ben (the guy who manufactures them) will put aluminium tread plates on them for you.
There's a thread about sliders on here somewhere with photos.
And just over half the price of the OEM princess steps.

Thanks for the replies. Babs' post was hilarious and I think I get it. Sliders are like surfing a 6ft offshore swell at Bells and steps are like 1ft mush. To be honest, the more I read, the more I like the sliders and RHS58s suggestion for the APT sliders with the aluminium tread plate looks like the way to go - best of both worlds. I've tried to find a picture of that set up but haven't any luck. Can anyone send me a link please?
