    Remapping a Discovery 4

I live in Melbourne and just wonder what people pay for a ECU remap. I have been quoted $1249 by Euro Remaps at Point Cook. Is this a fair price to pay and/or does anybody else do them in Melbourne.

    Thanks David

    D4 REMAP

    Hi David,
I have a 2014 sdv6 D4 & recently had an EGR shutoff & Remap done in SA at Triumph Rover Spares, they have a licence for the Quantum product.
The cost was $770.00+gst, significant power increase but cant say whether fuel use has changed as only had it done 2 weeks ago, my main concern was to shut off the EGR valve as I have seen the crap that collects in the inlet manifolds of a couple of Tritons that I own.
    Regards,

I had my SDV6 RRS (same engine) done by Roo systems. Re the above, was that a re map or a chip? Mine was $1400 but involved quite a few hours on dyno etc. If anyone does it I recommend that it is ECU re map, not a chip, and it is done on rolling road dyno. Big difference in power, slightly less fuel. Mind you I also put a bigger exhaust on.

    D4 remap

    Hi David,
I had a preformance remap done by Ritters for $990 to improve towing ability of a D4 2.7. Power improvement but no real fuel savings.
    Cheers

    Hi Meccles,

Can I ask which dealer in Melbourne did your Roo Systems ECU Remap ? I believe there is a couple of dealers in Melbourne but really looking for the more experienced dealer. AS you stated, it needs to be done with several hours work on a rolling dyno. Also did they give you a before and after NM reading ? Thanks

I live on Sunshine Coast so had main Roo systems workshop in Brisbane do it.
See this link http://www.aulro.com/afvb/l320-range...u-exhaust.html which gives chart of before/after etc etc. There is also a link to video they did - mainly advertising but shows results. Note that this was remap, and exhaust up grade. The exhaust made some difference but re map made most.

Thanks Meccles - certainly gives me some thing to consider - although I'd probably leave the standard exhaust on for now

Certainly the exhaust some wouldn't like. I do coming from TDV8, but it is noticeable inside car whereas original wasnt

Plus 1 for triumph Rover spares in Adelaide I've had mine done for about 4 months now drivability is fantastic, torque curve in tge 1500 to 2500 rpm range is epic. Towing the 3.2 t van even more effortless but I have experienced a backward step in terms of fuel economy. I took it back and discussed fuel consumption and they're having another look at it. In the end if that's what it is then that's what it is but full mark's for them in terms of their backup and service.
