Sorry to dig up an old thread...

I've been added to the list at ProSpeed to get one of these racks in, but had a simple question in the meantime - how do you mount a set of maxtracks to one of these? Do the mounting points on the rack conveniently line up with the holes in the tracks? (I doubt it) Or do you attach to the round rail somehow?

Mounts mounted to the floor boards in my case.

    Red face

I fit my Maxtrax across the very rear of my Prospeed rack.

They slot quite firmly over two eye bolts screwed into two of the racks rear bolt holes, so that each can poke up through a hand hole on the front edge of the Maxtrax. I then feed a short strap through each eye bolt then over the Maxtrax, finally looping each strap around the bars at the very rear of the rack before securing them.

They seem to be quite secure and are easy to access via the ladder.

The only photo that I could find .

Got an update on my rack order… 1200 GBP shipping cost!

I love the rack, but can’t justify that - makes for a 2000 GBP ($3,800) rack, before any fittings!

    Damn covid.

I’d suggest they perform that good also!

    Lowest profile, silent, stable.

The form and function are the best combination of any of the racks available and don’t ‘look’ like ‘just a rack’.

I also found zero impact on fuel consumption - so for me the cost difference ever so slowly gets clawed back.

Definitely the best in the market, but to pay more in shipping than the rack is worth doesn’t sit well :-(

    I understand that completely.

See if you can find a few likeminded people here and share a container

Been there. Done that. I organised an AULRO ProSpeed group buy a few years ago and managed to bring in 10 racks and accessories for as near as dammit to the UK retail prices (that is, UK price plus VAT ex factory equaled AUS price less ProSpeed AULRO Group Buy discount plus shipping plus GST plus Duty ex Melbourne). Had to overcome a few roadblocks on the way and took over a year to land them. ProSpeed were great to deal with and the only proviso was that they would only deal with one contact person and one payment which was fair enough.
Shipping was difficult back then and would be much more difficult and expensive now, so I doubt if it would be feasible now. Looked at hiring or buying a container but could not fill it up. Another issue is where the racks are landed in Australia. My lot landed in Melbourne, but the costs of on-shipping to Brisbane and Perth were prohibitive then (over $500 per rack).
From memory, 17 members expressed a desire to place an order, but when the time came to put up only four (including me) actually stumped up with the cash. The only reason it went ahead was that I came from a marketing and distribution background and took a punt that the racks would sell once they had landed and the price was firmed up. So I personally paid for the extra six racks and most commonly requested accessories plus shipping. They all sold over the next few months at the same AULRO price as the whole exercise was to be break even, not commercial.
Actually, I still have one spare wheel carrier and jerry can holder if anyone's interested.
