Thread: Nudge Bar for LR Disco 4

What was the total price including bar?

Don't know how you'll ever put hundreds of Kg up the front removing what's necessary to fit a full bar only adds 40kg. A nudge bar will add nearly 20kg to the front.

What are you trying to protect from?
A nudge bar won't protect anything in an animal strike, so if it's just a mounting point you want, I would consider....

Fabricate through grill mounts for driving lights.
Mount sand flag off the roof rail...

Went through this process about 12 months ago Roscoe. Couldn't find anything except for the ECB nudge bar. Even then I don't think it was rated for MY14+. Like you I am just after somewhere to mount some lights.

I have mounted some lights on tabs sticking through the grill. They work OK but I was restricted on the type of light I could get so they don't project too far forward and provide the first point of contact for even a small carpark nudge .

I even designed up a simple hoop design but no local fabrication shop would touch it (liability and all that stuff......).

Apart from shopping centre Bump protection most nudge bars do more damage in a bingle.

They're built marginally thicker than a Coke Can... and pivot directly back and into the major components.

Relative to what some bits can cost not too bad if it's what your after.

ECB bar was $700ish I recall, so your other option is not too bad really.

Must admit I hadn't chased the price on the ECB one - Rather expensive at $700.
Had anticipated around the $300 mark as per average ones on-line but factoring in the Land Rover premium perhaps $500 isn't so bad, thanks for the advice.
