My Bro may have found out the hard way about messing with the unknown.
He has just bought a high km D4 HSE.He got the usual low battery warning.Told him that's possibly normal as its a short trip to work,get a ciggy lighter volt meter and watch when its charging.
He takes it to the battery shop and they did a battery test.Told him the battery is good,has more CCA than its supposed to.He has a DBS so I guess they didn't realise the CCA was higher because of this.
Anyhow he now is having a selection of warnings that go out after a re-start.Ive told him to try a hard re-set,disconnecting the aux battery first.
He tells me they just hooked the battery tester up to the battery without doing anything.Told him that they shouldn't have used the earth post and they should know this.Im thinking he may have a fried BMS ecu,if its still playing up he is going to get Rovertech to look at it.
Is there any comeback on a battery shop that causes damage like this???

If i wanted to claim on it. The excess can sometimes be more than just fixing the issue. Had it happen once when i mustve failed to tighten the cooler lines on a d2 r380 and it liberated all its oil... was cheaper to buy him another box than claim insurance ��

It's possible that the battery monitor may have been fried but more likely it may have to be reset using a suitable diagnostic tool. Perhaps have the battery re-tested with the aux disconnected.
