Now that's an excellent idea. Have never heard of these before - wish I had come across them before wiring up lights etc on the front of my vehicle.

But you have solved the issue of how I was going to wire up the camping / reversing light I have for the rear of my vehicle. ;)

A couple of these remote relays will be excellent for wiring up camping lights. :D

Here is one I used most recently.

DC 12V 10A Relay 1CH Wireless RF Remote Control Switch Transmitter Receiver BLK | eBay

This one is not waterproof but as the post above shows there are many different types. i have two under the bonnet and they work fine from within the car. In both cases I have a manual over ride switch under the bonnet just in case but they have never failed.

I still use a relay and this switch is just in series with say the high beam feed just as a normal manual switch would be.

Very useful for switching lights etc without running additional wires or finding places for switches.

On the issue of batteries in hot cars I am not sure, I live in Melbourne.

I have a battery (2 x AA) powered fridge temp monitor sitting on the shelf above the top glovebox. Has been there for more than two years and batteries have never gone flat. ;)

Big diameter cable. Can't place enough emphasis on this...

As for a switch - plenty of choices - do you have a preference?

Tim does a very good wiring kit.I used one for mine.

I'm thinking on RHS of steering column.
I already have Llams on LHS and Tow Pro next to light switches.

Don't use a switch with a light/indicator in it at that position.

It will drive you crazy reflecting in the side window.
