I utilized the front fog lamp switch, an extra relay in the line, but it works like a dream. It even has an indication in the dash and has the advantage of no extra aftermarket switches.

So your front fog lights are on as well?

    So for clarification,
The fog lights go on with the driving lights?
Makes sense, I never use the fog lights.
Where did you locate the relay?
    Cheers Vin

    Hi,
As high beam is useless in fog, I would have thought fog lights would be best wired to low beam or park lights. They should have a very low flat beam to avoid back glare from the mist.

My son was fined in NSW for having his Focus' fog lights on when there wasn't any fog, so be wary of having them on any time except in fog.

Put it this way - fog lights on the front of a D4 aren't switched by the High Beam...

So I'm puzzled how this is wired and remains compliant with Road Traffic Act and ADRs...

I assume that is its one like this you still need a 30amp relay in series also?

But if its one like this... does the 30amp relay in the switch remove that need?

Just be careful it doesn't interfere with the frequency your vehicles security system runs on!

This is the only relay I ever trust. Never had one fail. They last forever.

They have been making this relay for more than 30 years so they must have got it right.

I would not trust the relay in the remote controlled units. Just use then to drive another relay.

I have not found any issues with the cheap remote switches interfering with the car security or other functions.
