    New compressor?

Well, my Discovery 3 has started throwing up a few codes recently, with a few caution lights as well. It does the occasional "Normal Height Only" just after start up, which then clears on a restart. The code that I can see from my reader says that the reservoir is filling too slowly (or words to that effect), and that it has lost communication with the ride level sensor. From my reading on here and other forums, it looks like the compressor might be on the way out.

I'm off to see Justin Cooper in Kingston on Tuesday (thanks for fitting me in JC) to see what the fix is. I'm preparing for a new compressor, but hoping for something less expensive. I've only had the vehicle eight months, so not sure what compressor it has in it, methinks it might be a Hitachi one. I'm not clearing the codes so that JC and his team can read them and offer his advice.

It could be the air dryer clogging up. I had mine replaced for $250 all up, so it's worth checking out! You can also just replace the dessicant and seals for a fair bit cheaper.

    Cheers

    Parts for the car

Hi FatBoy, I have had great success getting parts from these guys as well, they don't answer emails but well worth your time to have a look - items in Metal Monster Junk store on eBay!

I got the Disco back from Justin Cooper today. Thanks for the work JC!

It turns out that the compressor was the original one, and was caked in mud. I don't know how long it had been like that, we have only had it for eight months. The mud caused the compressor to overheat, and subsequently fail. JC replaced it with an AMK one, and so far so good.

I'll take the Disco back to him soon, just to give it the once over. I don't want to be stuck somewhere and find out that I should have replaced something BEFORE it became a big problem.
