Why didn't the dealer provide a 2nd key?

Tried for one. Got it down from 18999 was 19999 they werent moving

The frequency of your key should be on the key under where the blade folds into.

I found this 3 Button Remote Key Car Fob Chip 433MHz For Land Rover Discovery 3 RANGE ROVER | eBay which suggests 433MHz, whereas your link is for 315MHz.

My local service guy said he can program the key, just need to find somewhere to get it cut.

Look what's written on the existing key. My flip key is 433.

I have had a lot of issues with getting locked out of my D3 and my advice is to get a key from LR. They shouldn't charge more than $80 to get a key coded when it arrives. If you want to save this and much more in the future get an IID tool or Nanocom. I haven't been overly impressed with my Nanocom for the D3 and will probably get an IID tool for the D4. Look in the group buys section under the Markets tab on here for info on deals on both.
