Quick update on this. We've had a bit of rain here and I reckon I will drill a few holes in the infill plates for drainage. Gordon advised to put them in the outer edge as the infill plates slope away from the car.
Not a huge amount of water sits on there and it does blow off once you're moving but I think it will be better if it mostly drained away.

I'll also add a few more things which might be helpful.
I reckon it's much easier to get out the plugs on the underside of the sill trim with a proper trim tool.

I added a thin sealing strip to the top edge of the slider just to close the gap between the slider and the car body. May be overkill but seemed a good idea to me...

Finally, I replaced the ZP screws provided with stainless (M8 x 30mm) and also painted the washers black.
