The normal standard is 3% camber.I do ours at 4%,high rainfall.I do our gravel roads at 5%,high rainfall plus a maintence grader driver who hacks the crown out of my work during summer,so I add a bit more.Farmers don't like it as their field bins belly out on the crown
On gravel you need a decent crown to stop water pooling and potholes.I cant understand why all the dirt roads in the north are graded flat with huge windrows on the shoulders.Mine workers grade roads like that too,they don't know how to form a road up.

To be fair Andy. Formed roads vs Mine roads are very different...

A cambered road is more dangerous when wet for a 785 etc to traverse... and a mine road is maintained more often as they rut out very quickly.

Anybody can grade a flat road Mike.We have a minesite "all rounder" basically he is all round hopeless.He tells us he is awesome on a dozer and I know this because I know his dad really well his forte is a bull dozer,we don't have a dozer!!!! We were having big problems with our maintence grader driver so we put the "all rounder" on the other grader.Only lasted a month,never had so many complaints.
I do all our high traffic gravel roads winter grading,get lots of compliments on my work too,even back thru the office.

ever thought about moving down this way ?, wouldn't be as far to tow your boat, plenty roads to improve
