Thread: Pre-Purchase Inspection (Melb) and Advice

This is my first post on this forum.


I'm currently looking for a used D4 and this will be my first 4WD. It will share a garage with a Lotus Elise which is about 2 tonnes lighter


Can anyone make a recommendation about where to go for a pre-purchase inspection in Melbourne as a Land Rover newbie? I live in Ivanhoe East.


My Budget is about $50-$65k. I'm mainly concerned about condition and the following options (reversing camera and 7 seats). I'm going to a dealer tomorrow to check out a 2012 (MY12) Tdv6 with 40k's and a 2012 (MY13) SDV6 HSE with 94kms. The Tdv6 interests me because of the low mileage (it's about $6k cheaper). Should I be concerned about a car closing in on 100K's?


I intend on keeping the car for a while (it will be a 3rd car that the wife will also drive and that we will use for camping, snow boarding etc). Our other cars only do about 7,000k's per year and the LR4 is unlikely to do more mileage each year.


Any thoughts would be appreciated.
