Thread: C-Tek Bluetooth battery monitor.

    C-Tek Bluetooth battery monitor.

    I'm thinking of getting 2 of these, 1 for the main and one for the aux battery, (Traxide setup) so I don't have to run wiring and have a little box sitting on the dash.
    Has anyone used these or have any opinions?

    Battery monitor

    Looks good (although no experience with them).

    I note on their website that they specify only lead-acid batteries, so that would rule them out for AGM or Calcium-based(?) batteries common in the D3/4...

    Not sure how/why that would be the case??

    I showed these to BMKal months ago...

    They seem to work fine.

    AGM is lead-acid
    Calcium is lead-acid (just higher charge requirements)

    AGM is just Absorbed (Acid) in Glass Matting (sandwiched between lead) C-Tek Bluetooth battery monitor.

    Silver Calcium batteries use a different matrix (lead-calcium-silver alloy)

    I've got a couple of them, only thing I don't like is they tell you a % rather than voltage...

    Tombie is right.. don't pay $99... i got mine off eBay for about $70 each delivered I think by memory

    Although it's not a bad idea for the layman...

    Most associated a percentage rather than a voltage..

    11.4v on a 12.6v battery doesn't mean much to many.

    (Would be good if volt or % were selectable).

    Then you could see what they base their voltage readings on.

    The are two primary voltage readings used to monitor lead acid battery SoC.

    One is the most common but incorrect for RV use, and that is OPEN CIRCUIT voltage readings.

    The other is for batteries in use, and this is what is needed.

    But there is no indication in their literature as to which one they are working with.
