    D4 canvas seat covers

Does anyone have experience with canvas seat covers ?

I have been warned by a couple of people that canvas seat covers are abrasive and can rub the colour off leather seats over time. Any similar experiences or suggestions for good water proof seat covers for D4 ? Thanks in advance

Thanks Tombie. I saw from a previous thread you use WetSeat. I need them for the front seats. Did you get the custom or universal ones ? Thanks

Had them custom made to suit the D4..

Fantastic bit of kit, soft to sit on unlike Canvas and don't get hot..

There's canvas and then there's canvas for putting your bum on. I recommend Candy Canvas at Tintinara in regional SA. We don't have their product in our D4, that's why we went with a leather interior. But have used them in all our cars over around 15 years with excellent comfort, breathability and durability. They use a "soft" canvas for seat covers which is no abrasive like truck/tent/swag canvas. Reason is it does not need to cope with the elements

See how you go with them

As well make sure they are side airbag compliant of course

Considering not using the ones I got for our trip. Would be the only thing I've purchased for the car to date not to get used. Luckily i only paid $250 for them second hand.

Main problem i see is if I'm using them purely to keep dust and sand off the seats to prevent abrasions, but the canvas itself can cause abrasions anyway, there's no point.

Did just get some AutoGlym leather balm to treat the seats...

    Tend to agree.
I get leather seats because I like sitting on leather.
Use a good quality leather cleaner and conditioner.
    Regularly.

I already have two plastic/synthetic "mechanics" covers for both front seats for day to day use, but there not exactly comfortable and don't fit very well as there universal. But saying that they are completely water proof. $80 bucks on flebay from UK.

When I get back from holidays I'll have a better look at WetSeats I think.

Hope you all had a great Xmas and a great New Year coming up

p.s. I have two young children and a farm. So need a waterproof seat cover permanently on.

Fair call - the mechanics covers are good for those "fell over covered in ****" moments
