    Internal Roof Channel Access

Hello friends. I'm about to remove my Rhino roof tracks in anticipation of santa delivering a spanking new Front Runner Slimline II rack and rail setup . Being the thorough and diligent person that I am , I riveted the Rhino tracks to the roof at the rear as described in the installation instructions. Obviously I have to drill this rivet out to remove each track so here's my delema. Where will the blind side of the rivet end up when I drill it out? I'm assuming it's going to drop into a channel of some sort running under the skin of the roof in the back corner. Before taking my roof lining down (which is looking tricky), can anyone confirm if this is the case and if so, can I get access to recover the remains of the rivet? If not then any ideas on what to do? I don't want to have something rattling around if I can help it!!

Just drill the head off the rivet until the track is released, and leave the rivet body in the hole? A dob of silicon and it shouldn't leak....

I'd say let it drop, it's bound to find its way down and into the side panel eventually Internal Roof Channel Access

Fit a new rivet with some sealant to prevent water ingress afterwards.

I forgot how long the rivets were when I installed them! Drilled the head off, removed the plastic end cap and found and there was still a good 8-10mm of shaft left. I cleaned off all the old silicon, cut the rivet down to around 3mm then sealed it up with a dollop of Sikaflex. Problem I now have is how to retrieve the end of a 5 mm cobalt drill bit that snapped off into my A-pillar then I was drilled the mounting holes for my Safari snorkle !! But that's another story.
