Re OP fault messages, I haven't read anything similar on this forum. Maybe try Disco3 to see if any reports of similar there. Did the dealer advise you of the fault codes stored (if any)? You will read plenty of advice regarding getting your own diagnostic tool. This situation is one example of why. If it's transient you can clear yourself. If it's permanent you'll have some indication of what's wrong.

Thanks Scott. Dealer had the car for almost a week and advised that they had found no fault code in the system. After a number of rad tests they couldn't repeat the issue and couldn't identify the root cause. Not confidence boosting.
Do you have a recommendation on a reader?

iiD Tool BT (Bluetooth) by Gap. Recently best price was via Duckworths in UK. Bluetooth version well worth it for usability.

As Scott said, get the bluetooth version - it is well worth the few extra dollars.
In addition to a diagnostic tool, get yourself a copy of the D4 workshop manual if you don't already have one. You can purchase from Dave's shop (click on the "Shop" link at the top of this page) and by purchasing from here, you are supporting Dave and this site. It is a very detailed manual that will take you a little while to get familiar with, but covers everything that you are ever likely to need. As well as having it on my computer, I carry a copy on a portable hard drive on my keyring.
