Torque Values for Tightening Things Up

Hello. I was sure I had seen a reference list somewhere for the torque tightening values but can't find it now when searching.

The various DIY guides generally cover the values for things like brake & suspension components, hub nut etc. but has anyone seen a comprehensive list?

I checked the FAQ's in the Stickys but only a few values mentioned for the wheel nuts and sump plugs. Perhaps if there is such a list we can make it a Sticky please.

Also, it seems that the torque values seem to fall above and below the approx 200Nm max. you see on common torque wrenches. What does the brain trust recommend you should own in your tool kit?

Edit: checked Disco3 also no luck

 Thanks

 Richard

I posted this list up a while back - not sure if that has everything you are looking for. If you have the workshop manual available from Dave's shop, it is generally not too difficult to find most torque specifications in there - though another recent post pointed out that some of the torque specs internal to the engine such as big ends etc are not listed there.

Can't remember what brand torque wrench I have out in the shed, but it's only an "average" one. If the torque specifications for any bolt etc cannot be dialled in exactly on my torque wrench, I always just go up to the next available setting on the wrench. I did have a very nice Snap-on torque wrench that I discovered during a recent shed clean-out. But then my young bloke came round and re-claimed it.

 Cheers .........

Thanks - That's exactly what I had seen. This should be merged into the FAQ Sticky
